Ilha Grande represents a unique attraction at the Green Coast. There are 187 km of beauty, including 106 beaches, waterfalls and mountains, just 1 and ½ hour by boat from Angra dos Reis or Mangaratiba. From the Abraão village, the main urban center of the Island, the open treks take you to semi-virginsbeaches and lagoons. On the South side, open sea, the waters are agitated, different from the North side, which the beaches are protected and for this has calm waters. On the other extreme is the Provetá, reaches by boat and dominated by protestants. Between the two is the Biologic reserve of the South beach

Morning road transfer from Rio. Arrival at Angra dos Reis or
Mangaratiba, where you will take a ferryboat to Abraao village;
Reception by bilingual local guide and walking transfer to your hotel
(cars are not allowed in the island).
Reconnaissance tour (Main points: restaurants, bars, Internet, Mail, Diving Operators, Lazaretto ruins, Aqueduct and Preta beach); Overnight at your hotel.
Breakfast. Depart to Lagoa Azul (Blue Lagoon), with awesome locations that protect its unspoiled natural environments. There will be a stop between the two islands. In the shallow part of this lagoon affording blue transparent waters, you will find an abundance of colorful corals and fish which feed off of your hand (all of this is what turns the Blue Lagoon one of the most visited locations in Ilha Grande). The trip will continue with a stop at Praia da Freguesia de Santana. There you will have the chance to get to know two beaches in addition to the historical Santana Church (built in 1796). This location was the first place in Ilha Grande to be populated, and in the last century, it was the center for economical development of the island housing a slave colony. Returning to the boat, passengers will be a stop at Saco do Céu (meaning Sky Bay), a small bay with still waters that received its name because at night you can admire the reflection of the stars on the oceans´ surface. The tour returns at approximately 4:00 PM. (B)

Breakfast. Check out for transferring out at 10:00am. Meet guide assistance at the pousada and walking transfer to Abraão village. Transfer back by trolley with English speaking guide to Abraão village. Boat transfer to Mangaratiba pier. Car transfer to Rio de Janeiro. Drop off at Rio’s hotel or airport.

The island is situated in the Órgãos Saw, which belongs to the proteozoic era (more than 420-500 millions of years). Its rocks are sintectonic represented by "granitóides". Belongs to the same group of the Pão de Açúcar of Río do Janeiro.
Being an oceanic island, it has a strong influence of 193 km² area Approx. Coast Perimeter = 130 km Minor perimeter for a coast navigation= 72 km The contour is undulating with 34 sharp ends and little peninsulas, 7 small bays and 106 beautiful beaches of diverse characteristics.
Mountainous topography with several peaks. The most important ones are the PICO DA PEDRA D’AGUA with 1031 mts. over the sea level and the PICO DA PAPAGAYO with 982 mts. These areas are extensively vegetated and you can also find dense forests, headlands, steeps, plains, rivers and caverns. the sea over its climate. It has a tropical weather, very hot and humid. You are not going to find droughts. The medium temperatures of the air are between 15ºC - 30ºC. The medium water temperatures are between 18ºC - 24ºC. In one year, you have between 180 and 200 sunny days. According to the Meteorological Station of Andra Dos Reis - INMET-, the annual medium temperature is 22,5ºC, being February, the warmest month with 25,7ºC average and July the coldest, with 19,6ºC.
The annual media is 2.242mm, being January the rainiest month with 293 mm and July the driest with 87 mm.
