• Alta Floresta

Alta Floresta is located in the extreme north of the State of Mato Grosso. However, the ecosystem found there is quite different from the one found in the Pantanal swamplands and the backwoods brush. This is where the Amazon begins. The scenery, which results from the meeting of the tropical forest with the backwoods brush, is stunningly beautiful.

Alta Floresta is one of the main tourist points in the Amazon region. It has modern shops and a good hotel infrastructure, including a hotel in the jungle itself. The region is considered to have a high potential for sport fishing.

Untouched woodlands with secular trees resist the attacks of the lumber companies and ensure that food is available for the survival of monkeys, tapirs, deer and more than 400 species of birds, such as macaws, toucans and parrots.

Climate
The dry season, between May and October, is the best period for those who wish to explore the beautiful beaches along the river.

How to get there
By Air: there are regular flights to Alta Floresta.
By Highway: the following national and state highways provide land access to the town: BR-163, MT-320 or MT-208
